FRP & Gelcoat Panels FAQ: The Professional Technical & Buying Guide

Apr 24, 2026

1. Technical Specs & Customization

Q: How thick can Runfeng FRP panels get?

A: We've designed our production lines to be incredibly flexible. Currently, we can manufacture sheets ranging from ultra-thin 0.4mm liners (ideal for lightweight wall cladding) up to 5.0mm heavy-duty structural panels. Because we use continuous production, we can maintain precise thickness control across the entire run-no more worrying about uneven spots.

Q: Gelcoat vs. Standard FRP: What's the real difference for my project?

A: Think of the Gelcoat as a premium "protective skin." While standard FRP is durable, our Runfeng Gelcoat Panel features a specialized 200-300μm resin layer. This isn't just for looks; it's what gives the panel that mirror-like gloss and, more importantly, stops UV rays from turning the material yellow or brittle. If your project is outdoors or requires frequent cleaning (like a food processing plant), Gelcoat is the way to go.

Q: What is the maximum width available?

A: Need to cover a large area with fewer seams? We can produce panels up to 3000mm wide. Since we run fully automated lines, we're not limited by standard sizes-just let us know your project dimensions, and we'll customize the length to minimize your onsite cutting waste.

2. Performance in the Real World

Q: Why should I swap aluminum for FRP in my RV or refrigerated truck?

A: In the transport industry, weight and insulation are everything. Unlike aluminum, which dents easily and conducts heat, our FRP panels act as a thermal barrier. They don't rust, they handle impacts much better (they flex instead of denting), and if a scrape does happen, repairing a fiberglass patch is much cheaper and faster than replacing a metal sheet.

Q: Can these panels survive extreme weather?

A: Absolutely. We've tested these materials to perform in environments ranging from -40°C to +130°C. Our high-grade UV stabilizers ensure that even after 15 years under the harsh sun, the panels won't crack or lose their structural integrity. It's "install and forget" durability.

3. Working with Runfeng

Q: I need to match a specific brand color. Is that possible?

A: Yes, we don't just do "industrial white." We can match any RAL color code to keep your branding consistent. Beyond color, we also offer different textures-High Gloss for a clean look, Matte for reduced glare, or Anti-slip pebbled surfaces for flooring.

Q: How fast can you ship a bulk order?

A: For most standard specs, we can get your order ready for dispatch in 7 to 15 working days. We know that construction and manufacturing schedules are tight, so we use a PLC-automated system to ensure that the quality of the first sheet is identical to the 10,000th.
